Amigo by Guy Wright

The " Amigo" is a unique adaptation of the dumb bell Clouser style fly. This new pattern has proven to be a superior bait fish imitation that stands apart from all the other standard imitations. In the waters I have fished, this one unique pattern has out fished all others consistently, and has worked similarly for those I have tied this pattern for. It is my belief, along with others that any or all bait feeding predatory fish will eat this fly. In the local waters I fish, this one pattern has caught a wide variety of fish: Surf Perch, Corbina, Halibut, Yellow Fin Croaker, Sand Bass, Calico Bass, Johnny Bass, White Sea Bass, Cabazon, Leopard Shark to name a few, with a lot of these different varieties caught in the same session. This May I tried this pattern on a flyfishing Kayak expedition in Baja, led buy expert Baja flyfishing guide Gary Bulla. This pattern out fished all. The other flyfishers had limited success until trying this pattern which produced instant results, hooking Roosters, Jacks, Yellow Tail, Bonita, Sierra, Tunas, Pompano, Cabrilla, Pargo, Ladyfish, along with various exotics from Trigger’s to Puffers. This pattern was so successful that we christened it the "Amigo" a welcomed friend to all flyfishers.
