Looking for a fly fishing adventure that is a little closer to nature? Would you like to meet some interesting fish, explore a beautiful unspoiled habitat, and have all the free time you need to follow your whims? How about warm, clear water holding beautiful tropical fish and coral reefs? We paddle into mangrove lined lagoons to fish and visit with many varieties of birds. All of this is bordered by white sandy beaches and incredible rock formations on two uninhabited islands. And it is in the middle of the most diverse fishing grounds in the Eastern Pacific. It is all about having fun!

Isla Espiritu Santo

With new single sit-on-top fishing  kayaks to propel yourself silently through the lagoons and seas, a cook to serve up delicious meals three times a day, and iced drinks to slake your thirst your island adventure is complete. Learn to fly fish in the salt in a non-intimidating program  and improve your skills on a huge variety of species.   Sea kayaks provide an unobtrusive and pleasurable means to discover Gary's favorite fishing spots.  We camp on beautiful Isla Espiritu Santo and Isla San Jose off La Paz, in Baja, Mexico. During the week we paddle to a variety spectacular points, islets, and bays enabling us to explore many of our secret hotspots. A boat and captain accompany us on our daily outings, and most often even transport  us to a favorite fishing spot. This trip is not about long distance paddling -it is about fishing! Or you can just lounge on the beach, beach comb, hike the canyons, or snorkel. During breaks between water activities you can learn to tie saltwater flies and practice leader building and casting technique with Gary at your side.

Dorado, Pargo, Yellow Tail, Cabrilla, Black Skipjack, Pacific Bonita, Ladyfish, Roosters, Golden Trevally and Sierra are to mention just a few of the fish that can be landed by kayak! With the latest sit-on-top kayaks and a panga for gear and food transport all you have to provide is your rod and a sleeping bag.  Fishing equipment can be rented also. Week long trips are scheduled Saturday to Saturday, with first and last nights in La Paz in a first rate beachfront hotel.  We also have shorter "Quick Escapes".  See Trip Schedule for details.

Aero California and Mexicana, fly  direct to La Paz. Most of us fly through Los Angeles and only have the choice of Aerocalifornia. First and last night's lodging, all food and drink, guiding, kayaks, tents and base camp facilities included. Contact us for departure dates, or request a custom trip (minimum 7 adventurers).   Email info@garybulla.com or call 805 933 1366.

We also do "blue water" fly fishing trips from boats at Punta Arena/ Cerralvo Island. These are trips that fill up mostly from repeat customers and usually are not advertised. Please inquire.
