Otis Fizzles and
Baja Sizzles-Field Report
Hello folks,
Otis made its way west of BC Sur and fizzled out.
The initial south breezes and heaped-up swell have given way to calm conditions
and a return to semi-normal weather for Baja in October.
Plenty of Sardina are available, now that the the crossing from Punta Arenas to
Cerralvo easily be made (and the disappearance of south swell makes bait-making
possible), and the usual list of suspects have started to appear.
So far on the trip: Yellowfin Tuna, Dorado, Pompano, Pez Gallo (Roosters),
Sabalo (Ladyfish), Blue and Gold Snapper, Cabrilla, Pargo Amarillo, Cocinero
(Green Jacks), Barrelette (Black Skipjack), Triggerfish, Toro (Jack Crevalle),
Marciano (Needlefish), Trumpeta (Coronet Fish), Gafftopsail Pompano, Croaker.
Of special note are our guests from the east coast... professional guides Sara
Gardner and Brian Horsley.

on their first trip to Baja! (They like it so much already, they have already
decided to return next year).
Suerte,
Gary
