I know it's not the time of year, but yellowtail are being caught. Sat. O-Side 51.5 monster, monday LJ 2 by a yaker 42.5 and 23.5 respectfully. That's some serious fish tacos not to mention the fun of landing one of those pigs. So I will make my first attempt this weekend, will keep you all posted.

Ron-we must be talking about San diego eh? Sounds like we are going to get an El Nino fishing season-especially if the yellowtail are already pushing up. How far out was the yak?

Ron, Checking the swell report shows season high swells for tomorrow through the weekend. Be careful. I would hate to lose my Baja fly fishing guide and interpeter.

Gary, That is a big 10 4. Sat a gentleman caught a 51.5# yello and I think he was out by the domes(Power plant SanO). The YT caught on the yak were at La jolla kelp, if you ever get down there on the weekend you can't miss the floating battallion of yakkers. I know they weren't fly. But none the less in the dead of winter YT are being caught fairly regularly. It gets me all fired up, just got the Reel Trouble back from the shop ready for this coming season, looking to put the hurt on the Albies when they get with in range. If this weather sticks for a while and the seas give us a chance the Ablies should start hitting the decks.

Randy, I also saw the swell forecast and I think I jumped the gun stating that I would give it a go this weekend. But Forecast are just that forecast, it doesn't mean the swell will hold its just predicted to hold. If that is the case then as they say in MEX. manana amigo!

P.S. Gary I hope everything is okay for you up there, I read your stranded post. Unbelievable the amount of rain we had. Hope everything stayed put.
