Materials
Hook: Owner Spinnerbait 2/0 to 5/0 or other
long shank, wide gape saltwater
hook.
Thread: Mono cord or equivalent white or red
Head: 28 or gauge shot gun plastic caps
(cheap at gun supply).
Eyes: Prismatic or plastic stick on
Body cement: Softex, two part epoxy or Angler's
choice soft body.
Tail: Two chartreuse saddle and two
red saddle.
Under body (optional) chartreuse, red, or
pearl cactus chenille
Body and over wing: Medium 1/2" or large
3/4"soft braided Mylar
Tying Steps

Trim plastic caps to bottle cap shape with
razor blade.

Pierce center with hook or heated needle and
slide over hook to eye with top of cap towards eye.

If weight is desired fill cap with wraps of
lead and cover with epoxy or slide on a conehead weight to back of
cap. Push all of this as far forward on the hook as possible and
build a thread ball to push the head back tolater.

Tie in saddle flared so it extends about 1 1/2
hook lengths. I finish the under body with cactus chenille wound up
to thread ball. Whip finish and cut thread. Glue.

Cut a length of braided Mylar three times the
length of hook.

Take a needle or other tool and comb out
braiding leaving one and a half times hook length braided.

With bend of hook to left and "tail"
of braided Mylar to right tie end of Mylar down in front of cap and
glue. Invert while working Mylar back over body.

Add short tapered thread head if desired.

Use a prismatic pens to color the head and /or
body.

Apply eyes and use Softex or two part epoxy
twice over whole body and eyes to hook bend.
